DramFest - The Nosing Competition
So
you think you can tell your Bruichladdich from your Benriach? Your
Pedro Ximinez from your Port Wood? Your Rosebank from your Springbank?
Well now's your chance to prove it!
Our 3-person team tasting competition is on again at DramFest, and this year you and your team have to correctly guess several key pieces of information about four undisclosed whisky samples.
The entry ticket entitles three people ($15 per person) to enter the DramFest 2011 Nosing Competition.
The competition is based around the tasting of four blind (undisclosed) whiskies that then have to be identified.
- 5 points are awarded for each correctly guessed attribute (age, expression, region and distillery) per whisky, with a total maximum points of 60 per team
- Even if you cannot tell which distillery it is from, if you can figure out what region and age it is, you will still recieve points for that sample
- All teams require a name
Whilst there may be some teams whose knowledge and appetite for whisky gives them an advantage, we hope that the experience of tasting whisky blind is fun and educational for all those who enter.
