Michael F. Fraser Milne KQ,  is now a “well kent face” in the whisky scene, as an importer of whisky to NZ since his arrival in Canterbury in 1993 and his one to twice yearly visits home to meet with his extensive and every increasing list of whisky friends and acquaintances in Scotland his passion for whisky and the people behind it and those that  love to experience a dram or two knows no bounds.

On the retail scene with Whisky Galore Michael enjoys offering a selection of over 700 whiskies and on the tasting front expects another busy year of tastings which have taken him throughout New Zealand, Australia, Ireland, France and more recently to Hong Kong and San Francisco and of course his native Scotland where he has had the pleasure of presenting. He has been taking whisky seriously since 1986.

When he gets a chance he takes time out to enjoy overseas whisky festivals and take part in tutored tastings & the back end of the whisky industry with some of his network of friends and knowledgagle contacts, having now visited 68 of the 99 Malt Distilleries now open many of these several times as well numerous now closed ones. He enjoys sharing his passion over a dram and is particularly fond of DramFest and all that it offers.
